GOLD MEDAL WINNER – 2014

The Southern Cross Packaging Design Awards, organised by the Packaging Council of Australia, are aimed at Australian tertiary students studying graphic and industrial design.
Students had to select any product from one of the following P&G brands: Head & Shoulders; Gillette; Vicks and Metamucil. The challenge was to redesign the packaging whilst successfully delivering a holistic solution from point of sale, point of use and disposal.
Judges' Comments–
"Carlos researched the current product features, user expectations and how Vicks contributes to lifestyle to better understand how to improve the existing product. His design incorporates a simple printing technology of glow in the dark ink to the label, box and additional promotional stickers.
By having a glow in the dark label, if a parent goes into the bedroom during the night to rub the product on their child, they won't need to turn a light on. Such a clever and simple solution."
